Job Description:
The Staff System Analyst, Software is responsible for maintaining and improving systems and processes that support Allison’s internal software development capability.
This role applies business acumen, Allison process knowledge, software development experience, and project management skills to bring about transformative change to business processes across all product engineering domains.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze Allison software development processes and tools to identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with peers and product owners to develop and document roadmaps for systems that enable software development
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for software and development tools
- Collaborate with engineering teams, IT teams, and other stakeholders as necessary to define and implement new/improved processes and systems
- Validate system changes to ensure they meet the needs of the organization
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in relevant tools and processes
- Envision, design, implement, deploy, and maintain systems using a variety of supported languages and tools

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, engineering technology or demonstrated equivalent experience in prior roles
Experience:
- Ability to organize tasks, documentation, and project deliverables
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
- Proficient with MS Office 365 – PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Teams, SharePoint, and Visio
- Experience working effectively in cross-discipline teams
- Experience extracting & documenting stakeholder requirements via live interviews and conversational e-mails
At least 3 of the following technical experiences:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining a web-based application including a database in an enterprise environment
- Developing, packaging, deploying, and maintaining a Windows client application in an enterprise environment using .NET Framework
- Implementing and maintaining a source code control system (e.g. GitHub) for multiple, concurrent developers
- Designing, implementing, and testing embedded automotive software
Scope:
- Individual contributor with no direct reports
- Limited vendor management responsibility
- Broad exposure and partnerships with various levels within the organization
Travel Requirement: up to 25%.
