Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include several disciplines within the mechanical engineering domain expertise for multiple product lines in GE Aviation. Particularly Design and manufacturing of enabling hardware for engine missions.
The engineer may interact with Test Facilities Engineering, Instrumentation, Assembly, Test Operations, Peebles T.E.H., Test engineering and Evaluation Engineering to achieve success on engine or other related component testing.
Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrated with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
Reviews and updates Design Operating Practices to enhance the processes within the TSE department.
Participates in reviews with Chief Engineers, local maintenance groups, tradesmen, DMO or Outside vendors to ensure manufacturability of designed components.
Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Leads projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
Serves as a mentor to less experienced engineers.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 5 years' experience in mechanical design

Experience with high temperature bleed systems
Experience on the following type of engineering analysis: Linear and non-linear analyses, Thermal analyses (permanent + transient); Heat Transfer; Dynamic analyses; Advanced skills in material mechanics (vibration, fatigue, creep); Fluid Flow

Previous Experience in Test Enabling Hardware design and manufacturing.
