Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is currently seeking a Staff Engineer Liaison for our Advanced Programs team in Northridge, CA. The Staff Engineering Liaison will serve as the Liaison for the configuration management and engineering function, championing department efficiency through systematic capture and analysis.  They will leverage data-driven insights and modern tooling to diagnose bottlenecks, formulate actionable recommendations, and implement innovative, solution-focused process improvements.

This position is required to be full-time, on-site in the Northridge, CA location. No remote/telework arrangement is available for this position. 

Staff Engineering Liaison:

  • Analyzes and advances the department’s efficiency through metrics capture
  • Analyses and resultant recommendations for process improvement
  • Apply creative methodologies to streamline processes
  • Champion modern analytics and workflow automation solutions
  • Serve as primary liaison for engineering hand-offs, ensuring clarity and compliance
  • Innovative approaches to problem solving
  • Data driven and uses modern tool in solution

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Science with 12 Years of relatable Software Configuration experience; or 10 Years with Masters; or 8 Years with PhD, or 4 additional years in lieu of degree can be considered.
  • Strong understanding of the hand-offs from Engineering and Configuration Management (CM) and the underlying principals of CM
  • Working knowledge of  EIA-649, MIL-HDBK-61A, and relevant ASME Standards
  • Experience with at least one major PLM/PDM system (i.e., Agile PLM, Teamcenter, CMPro, Windchill, etc.)
  • Ability to interpret and manage engineering artifacts: models, drawings, specifications, part records, change notices, manufacturing plans, and procedures)
  • Excellent written and verbal abilities; comfortable presenting to technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance within a timeframe set forth by management. US Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance Secret (or higher)
  • Possible need for SAP/SAR.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP system (i.e., Deltek, Oracle, SAP, etc.)
  • Experience in military, government, commercial aerospace industry (e.g., aviation/equipment maintenance, aircraft operations, or commercial industrial technology companies)

Primary Level Salary Range: $146,300.00 - $219,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
