Tenstorrent is seeking a highly skilled Gate-Level Simulation (GLS) Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a GLS Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our high-performance CPUs through meticulous gate-level simulation and verification. You will work closely with design and verification teams to validate and optimize the functionality and timing of our advanced CPU designs.
This role is hybrid, based out of Santa Clara, CA or Austin, TX.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive GLS methodology for the CPU
- Perform gate-level simulations to verify the functionality, performance, and timing of CPU designs.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for gate-level simulations.
- Collaborate with RTL design, verification, and physical design teams to identify and resolve simulation issues.
- Analyze simulation results, debug failures, and propose design improvements.
- Ensure thorough coverage and validation of all critical paths and corner cases.
- Automate simulation workflows to enhance efficiency and reproducibility.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of simulation environments and tools.
- Document simulation methodologies, results, and best practices.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in gate-level simulation and verification for high-performance CPUs or similar complex digital designs.
- Familiar with physical design flows and cell library views.
- Strong understanding of digital design principles and methodologies.
- Proficiency in simulation tools such as VCS, NC-Sim, ModelSim, or similar.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Perl, TCL) for automation.
- Solid knowledge of Verilog/VHDL and RTL design.
- Experience with debugging tools and techniques for simulation failures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with post-silicon validation and debug.
- Knowledge of low-power design techniques and their impact on simulation.
- Familiarity with static timing analysis (STA) and power analysis.
- Prior experience in high-performance CPU or GPU design.
- Understanding of industry-standard protocols and interfaces (e.g., PCIe, DDR).
Compensation for all engineers at Tenstorrent ranges from $100k - $500k including base and variable compensation targets. Experience, skills, education, background and location all impact the actual offer made.
