We are seeking an exceptional Staff Engineer, DevOps to lead and define the cloud infrastructure, developer experience, and DevSecOps foundations for our growing engineering organization. As the founding engineer for all DevOps and cloud platform initiatives, you will build scalable systems, design CI/CD frameworks, and drive automation across development, data, and deployment pipelines.
You’ll operate at the intersection of Developer Experience / Cloud Infrastructure / MLOps and DevSecOps, shaping best practices that empower engineering and data teams to move fast and ship securely. This role spans across several aspects of the DevOps discipline.
What you will do
Design and build next-generation CI/CD pipelines leveraging GitLab, Argo CD, and native automation tools and Define standards for branching, code review, testing, and deployment automation.
Establish internal tooling and developer workflows to enhance productivity and reduce friction andImplement observability and feedback loops to continuously improve engineering velocity and reliability.
Architect and manage cloud-native infrastructure across AWS (or GCP) including EKS / GKE, EC2, Cloud Run, Lambda, and Cloud Functions and Implement and manage Docker containers, Kubernetes clusters, and associated configurations like ConfigMaps, Secrets, and Ingress rules.
Configure and maintain Artifactory, API Gateways, and message bus systems (Kafka / PubSub / SQS).Own Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Pulumi to enable reproducible and scalable environments.
Develop robust data pipeline infrastructure leveraging managed Airflow (MWAA / Cloud Composer).
Drive best practices around data schema versioning, metadata management, and data lineage tracking, Partner with data engineers and ML practitioners to productionize models and orchestrate model deployment workflows.
Integrate security-by-design principles across the SDLC and Automate vulnerability scanning, dependency checks, and container image security using modern AI-assisted tools.
Ensure compliance, secrets management, and secure configuration baselines across cloud and on-prem systems and be the advocate to implement policy-as-code frameworks to maintain guardrails while enabling agility.
7+ years of DevOps / Platform / Infrastructure experience, with at least 3+ years in a staff or principal-level role.
Deep expertise in GitLab CI/CD, Kubernetes, Docker, and Argo CD.
Proven experience managing infrastructure in AWS /or GCP cloud environments.
Hands-on experience with Terraform, Helm, and container orchestration at scale.
Solid understanding of networking, security, observability, and secrets management.
Familiarity with managed Airflow, data pipelines, and schema versioning best practices.
Passion for automation, developer empowerment, and building systems that scale.
Experience implementing DevSecOps frameworks and integrating AI-driven security tools.
Exposure to machine learning infrastructure, model registry tools, and MLOps workflows.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives independently.
Prior experience as a founding or early engineer in a fast-paced startup environment.
The salary for this position ranges from $220,000 - $250,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
