The Staff Engineer is responsible for technically leading the development activities within the scrum team and applies deep technical expertise towards various activities of product development.

This position reports to the Engineering Manager and is part of the Lab Automation, Instrument R&D Team located in Bengaluru and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• You will technically lead the development activities in your scrum team, and you will closely collaborate with the Lab Automation Software development Team in Munich, Germany, with the Platform Development Team in IDC and with the Lab Automation Verification Team in IDC.
• You translate high-level requirements which are created by System Engineers into actionable SW Designs and actively contribute to the implementation of the requested functionality.
• Since Quality is of utmost importance to Beckman Coulter, you foster the respective “code of conduct for developers” and lead your teammates by example to highest quality standards, while also contributing to continuously improve the project specific guidelines and best practices.
• Engage with stakeholders at other Beckman Coulter sites, technical leaders, Architects and executives to communicate projects status, escalate issues, and guide and influence strategic decision-making.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor’s degree or Master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or Information Technology.
• At least 12 years of technical experience in multi-disciplined projects which includes 3+ years of experience in technically leading a team in Agile software development environment.
• Very good knowledge in C# .NET Framework based windows application development, inclusive of main principles of .NET Framework e.g. asynchronous programming models, threading models, garbage collection.
• Good knowledge in application of Object-Oriented design principles and patterns.
• Some experience in GUI development and related technologies e.g. WPF

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• At least some years’ experience of working in medical device development, needs to be familiarized with standards such as ISO13845 and ISO62304
• Exposure to working in development environments using GitHub Copilot and experience extending the environments with GitHub Copilot extensions.
