What You’ll Do 


  • Independently lead the architectural design, embedded development, and verification of safety-critical software components for the aircraft Charge Control Unit (CCU). 
  • Direct the implementation of charge control systems, serving as the primary technical authority for interfacing complex embedded software with high-voltage (800V+) electrical components and analog/digital circuitry. 
  • Serve as Certification Authority by leading the decomposition of item requirements into high-level and low-level software requirements in strict compliance with DO178C (DAL-A/B). 
  • Act as a subject matter expert during FAA certification audits. 
  • Architect and oversee the implementation of advanced fault detection and diagnostic algorithms to mitigate hardware-level events, including short circuits and sensor failures, ensuring aircraft safety. 
  • Perform expert-level system analysis of hardware schematics, signal integrity, and power distribution networks to dictate embedded software constraints and hardware-software interface control documents (ICDs). 
  • Author and define streamlined software development and verification processes to comply with aerospace safety standards (DO-178C and DO-326A). 
  • Lead and mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering technical growth and conducting final code/design reviews for the CCU team. 

Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics. 


Minimum Experience Requirement: Embedded Software Engineer, Firmware Engineer or related job title in which 60 months of experience with design and development of safety-critical embedded software using C/C++; working with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS); hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and debugging; and utilizing communication protocols such as CAN, SPI, or I2C was gained.
