Heritage Hall is currently recruiting for a Staff Development Coordinator - RN. The Staff Development Coordinator is responsible for conducting all education programs at the facility. They must assess staff needs and plan, implement, and direct the appropriate types of education programs necessary to meet the needs of the staff. The Staff Development Coordinator is a member of Nursing Administration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Make resident care rounds to assess educational needs of the staff.
- Develop and implement in-service programs as identified by staff performance appraisals to correct identified needs.
- Maintain competency checklists for all nursing personnel upon hire and updated yearly.
- Direct and conduct orientation for new nursing associates
- Establish yearly master outline of the planned education program.
- Establish a detailed monthly calendar of specific programs.
- Prepare written lesson plans for each educational program.
- Establish behavioral objectives for education program.
- Select and utilize a variety of teaching methods, materials, and resources for program presentation.
- Ensure education programs are available to all shifts on an on-going basis.
- Maintain current educational records, attendance, content, and follow-up plan for all education programs.
- Revise the CNA program periodically as outlined by the Virginia Board of Nursing Guidelines
- Keep the Virginia Board of Nursing informed of current CNA programs as well as any changes in these programs
RN Staff Development Qualifications:
- Must have an ASN or BSN degree from an accredited college.
- Must have active an RN license in the State of Virginia.
- Must be certified by the State of Virginia to conduct CNA training classes.
- Experience in long-term care preferred.
- Teaching/Education experience preferred
