Overview:

As a Staff Data Engineer, you will provide technical leadership, lead master data engineering initiatives, and build end-to-end analytical solutions that are highly scalable, performant, secure, and resilient. You rely on sound judgement, critical thinking, and creativity to deliver customer focused data solutions that create meaningful business impact. You are experienced with various master data principles , integration of master data with upstream and downstream business systems and its utility in overall data landscape .You understand patterns of data ingestion, processing, and curation. You understand criticality of data mesh architecture, data modeling, data quality, security & governance practices and are adept at it. You design solutions with strategic and long-term focus on code quality, reliability, reusability, maintainability and dataops. You are experienced in building efficient and scalable data services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of the master data platform, ensuring it meets current and future business needs. Architect data models, storage, and processing solutions that balance performance, scalability, and maintainability. 
  • Lead the design and development of Account Master, Contact master , Products Master, Parts Master and other similar entities . Integrating these entities with upstream and downstream business systems.
  • Design and Development in TAMR and Stibo .
  • Api and Microservices Design and Development
  • Have worked with enrichment tools like Duns and Bradstreet, HG insight etc.
  • Design and development of data pipelines, automation, and visualization tools to enable modern Data and analytics solutions.
  • Guide the expansion of our data products and solutions by advising and influencing business leaders and senior stakeholders with data-driven insights.
  • Partner with the data platform and infrastructure teams to architect and connect high quality, resilient data feeds from across the enterprise.
  • Work with enterprise architects, review data architecture and ensure alignment.
  • Perform design and development in technologies like Fivetran, Snowflake, DBT, Python, SQL, Kubernetes, Kafka and utilize cloud technologies like Azure, AWS, and GCP.
  • Lead the execution of large scale, complex data and analytics efforts, as well as mentor complex projects using a wide breadth of data science and analytical techniques.
  • Develop in-depth subject matter-expertise in understanding key strategic data sources and data lineage within the organization.
  • Scope key business challenges, identify the right data and provide direction to data analysts, data analytics product managers, data scientists, data engineers and business stakeholders.
  • Communicate the value of data clearly by articulating both the high-level concept and detailed user stories for feature enhancements and convince teams to adopt data-driven improvements.
  • Drive innovation by creating new frameworks, standards, prototypes, and automation projects in relevant areas.
  • Experience working with petabyte scale structured/semi-structured/unstructured data efficiently by designing, building and maintaining robust data processing frameworks for enabling actionable insights and analytics.
  • Create dashboards using enterprise tools such as Tableau and PowerBI.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, including 5+ years working with data engineering technologies.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Deep understanding of enterprise data management and master data concepts
  • Experience working on Master Data Platforms like Semarchy , Profisee, Tamr , Stibo , Informatica .
  • Part of at least 2 master data implementations
  • Broad expertise and experience with distributed systems, streaming systems, and data engineering tools, such as Kubernetes, Kafka etc.
  • Deep knowledge of Python, SQL, database design, and master data strategies.
  • Experience defining architecting, and rolling out data products, including ownership of data products through their entire lifecycle.
  • Experience mentoring and leading junior technical staff, incorporating modern software development tools and practices.
  • A confident peer influencer with strong communication skills who quickly establishes credibility and is capable of leading cross-functional technical teams.

Additional Qualifications (good to have):

Experience in the manufacturing industry or a similar domain. Familiarity with handling IOT / edge device data. Certifications in cloud platforms or data engineering.

The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $130,000 to $178,750.

  • Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors.

  • This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors.

  • This position includes medical, vision and dental coverage, 401k, paid vacation, holidays, and sick time, and other benefits.
