What You Will Do:

The Sr. Software Tester will test, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements. This person designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions, conducts multidisciplinary research, and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, testing, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. We are looking for a Software Test Engineer who also performs research and requirements management in addition to software testing.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A current and active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph through the MD customer is required to start on program with latest polygraph being less than 5 years old.
  • Fourteen (14) years of experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. Understanding of design, development, documenting, testing software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
  • Experience developing and executing test procedures for software components.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Java programming language is preferred.
  • Capable of performing research in addition to testing efforts.
  • An ability to work in a team environment and individually is preferred.
  • An ability to determine computer user needs and analyze system capabilities to resolve problems.

Salary Range: $181,400.00 - $272,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
