What does a Successful Platform Engineer do at Clover?

A successful Platform Engineer at Clover architects the invisible infrastructure that powers millions of daily transactions for merchants worldwide. You'll design and build the Kubernetes foundation that enables our engineering teams to innovate rapidly and deploy confidently. Your technical decisions directly impact how quickly new features reach small businesses, creating scalable solutions that transform how merchants operate and grow their businesses.

About The Team

Cloud Platform team builds the Kubernetes based microservice platform that application teams rely on to operate their critical services. We enable Clover engineering to ship features quickly and safely to our customers through large scale, fault tolerant, distributed systems.

What You Will Do

• Design and implement our cloud-based service platform

• Make architectural decisions around our Kubernetes ecosystem

• Work with developers to incorporate feedback and evolve the platform

• Help teammates grow through better processes and technical guidance

• Scale systems through automation to improve reliability and velocity

• Evaluate and implement new technological solutions

• Participate in on-call rotation and conduct blameless postmortems

What You Will Need To Have

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience

• 8+ years of industry experience

• Production experience with Kubernetes, service meshes, and related tooling

• Experience building and maintaining large scale platforms

• Aptitude for diagnosing technical issues and automating routine tasks

• Fundamental understanding of networking concepts

• Experience with major cloud providers such as AWS, GCP or Azure

• Knowledge of observability tools

• Experience with various database technologies

Salary Range

$124,300.00 - $213,100.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey, New York and California. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
