As a Staff Bookkeeper in BPM’s Tax department, you will support private, owner-run companies—including family-owned businesses and start-ups—by maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with tax compliance. You will be responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping tasks such as accounts payable, customer invoicing, bank reconciliations, and compliance filings (including 1099s, payroll, and sales tax). Working closely with both clients and internal tax teams, you will help onboard new clients, ensure the integrity of general ledger records, and identify discrepancies or process improvements. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, proficiency with accounting software (such as QuickBooks and Intacct), and the ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to clients.
You Have:
- 5+ years of bookkeeping experience.
- Experience using QuickBooks and Intacct (aka Sage Intacct).
- A clear understanding of accrual and cash basis of accounting.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Pro-advisor certification in recent versions is a plus.
- Knowledge of various accounting systems including NetSuite, Intacct, and MRI is a plus.
You Will:
- Handle diverse client base from high net worth individual’s family office, nonprofit organization to corporate accounting.
- Processing accounts payable, customer invoicing, bank reconciliations, preparing business compliance filings such as 1099’s, payroll, and sales tax.
- Be willing to take ownership of client base is necessary.
- BPM bookkeepers may be required to work at client sites as well as in the office on an as need basis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Opportunity to become certified with accounting software like Intacct and NetSuite.
- Firm support to pursue your CPA license.
