About the Role:
As a Staff Automation QA Engineer, you will help different product lanes in ensuring bug free product releases, defining the system and processes to identify bugs which will help in delivering error free Program/Software/Product. You will work to bring out new initiatives to improve the product and processes and communicate with the product and engineering teams to bring about these improvements, maintain comprehensive -test documentation and bring in automation where possible
What will you do:
- Prepare test plans, scenarios and write programs to test the software so as to identify bugs and enable bug free scalable software production
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to define acceptance criteria of software
- Execute risk based approach of software testing and business process testing plans to meet project testing needs
- Participate in requirements, design, review meetings and evaluate requirements testability
- Understand and analyze Business, Functional, Technical, Mobile applications and UI (User Interface) testing requirements, protocols and standards
- Maintain the test use case repository, library and use them effectively to improve software testing productivity
- Prepare reports on software testing and educate cross functional teams with common or trending bug/ failure scenarios to enable right first time programs
What are we looking for?
Must have:
- 5+ years of experience in automation testing
- Expertise in Web and API Testing (both automation and manual) using Agile methodologies
- Experience in building automation frameworks from scratch, as well as refactoring or improving existing ones
- Strong debugging skills, with the ability to identify and analyze issues effectively
- Experience with distributed version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo)
Good to have:
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- Experience creating small scripts or programs that enhance day-to-day efficiency
- Experience with JavaScript-based automation frameworks or the Karate framework
- Experience working with databases (e.g., MongoDB)
- Experience in terminal usage for scripting and debugging
Measure of Success:
- Bug free release- Number of bugs encountered past passthrough
- Functionality coverage through automation
- Comprehensive test documentation, bug report, test cases
- Effective and transparent communication
