The Sustainable Automation Business Unit of Analog Devices is seeking an experienced Robotics & AI Applications Engineer (Tactile Sensing / Advanced Systems) to join its Advanced Technology team, located in Wilmington, MA or Limerick, Ireland. The Applications Engineer will perform a range of tasks across the product life cycle, including product definition, new product development, technical documentation, and early customer engagement. The primary focus will be on Tactile Sensing, contributing to the development of innovative sensing solutions for humanoid hands and other robotics applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop expertise in Tactile sensing, collaborating with internal development teams and interfacing with customers to solve challenging customer problems.
  • Offer insights and recommendations for new product definitions based on customer requirements and a thorough system-level understanding
  • Work with internal product teams to understand and develop comprehensive signal‑chain solutions.
  • Develop preliminary datasheets, user guides, evaluation boards, and application notes, including related software collateral where applicable.
  • Contribute to evaluation software, support lab measurements and data capture.

Candidates should possess the following qualifications and abilities:

  • A bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, with 7+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Self-motivation and responsibility, demonstrated through a proactive approach to identifying and resolving complex technical challenges.
  • Strong knowledge of analog, digital and mixed-signal fundamentals.
  • A strong background in both hardware and software, including system integration, initialisation, and debugging.
  • Capability to support customer engagements, evaluations, and technical discussions
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence technical decisions through collaborative efforts.
  • Effective communication skills, particularly in technical presentations and the preparation of technical documentation or collateral.
  • A talent for bridging technical and commercial stakeholders, translating customer requirements into clear specifications.
  • Experience in supporting technical workshops, demonstrations, and activities aimed at enabling customers.
  • Experience with printed circuit board (PCB) design and familiarity with PCB design tools an advantage.
  • Knowledge of robotics, automation systems, AI/ML and perception systems an advantage.
