The Staff Application Engineer position is in Worldwide Regional Applications group, located in Bangalore, India for an experienced application engineer to focus on FPGA usage in 5G with expertise in 5G architecture, including core, RAN, and edge solutions, with a focus on virtualization, performance optimization, and security. The candidate also needs to have DSP skills with proficiency in designing, implementing, and debugging DSP algorithm for FPGA applications, with strong programming skills in C/C++, Python, and MATLAB. As a member of a highly seasoned Applications Engineering team, the successful candidate will work closely with several R&D teams, internal application design teams and key customers to enable the next generation of designs across the Agilex device families. Daily activities will include the following duties:
- Handle key customer escalations from analysis to closure.
- Work closely with field team and distributors to help their customers to improve their designs, products and customer experience.
- Participation in development projects possibly as part of an international cross organizational team and may include the generation of collateral and reference designs
- Develop and deliver training materials on new features and methodologies.
- Development of strong local regional and international intra and inter organizational communication and cooperation in a team based collaborative environment
- Stay current with and propose the internal use of industry approaches, algorithms, and practices
BS/MS/PhD in Electronics, Electrical or Software Engineering with minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Architecture, Design, or implementation experience in 5G, DSP. Experience in Industrial Standard contribution (e.g. Driving new standard with IEEE) will be added advantages.
- Customer Awareness: Has excellent working knowledge of RTL-based design flows and expectations.
- Product Knowledge: Has good working knowledge of the entire FPGA or ASIC design process and tool flow, with intermediate-to-advanced understanding in 5G and DSP.
- Design Enablement: Has good understanding of design methodologies for transceiver architecture
- Problem Solving: Ability to handle and solve complex system level issues.
- Technical Communication: Can simplify and communicate even the most complex subjects, making options, trade-offs, and impact clear. Can report out to management in a concise and actionable manner.
