What You'll be Owning

  • Reconcile daily banking activity, bank statements and account balances monthly
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger
  • Participate in month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and preparation of supporting documentation
  • Responsible for general and inventory accounting
    • Generate financial reports and variance analysis.  Ability to analyze financial data, reconcile accounts and identify trends or discrepancies
    • Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and company accounting policies. 
    • Support the corporate rate structure for government contractors
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements, control enhancements, and documentation standardization
    • Perform ad hoc reporting and special projects as requested

What You Must Have

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 2-3 years of accounting experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP principles
  • Understanding of internal controls, including Sarbanes Oxley compliance

What Would be Nice to Have

  • Government contracting is a plus
  • CPA certification or in-process certification preferred but not required
  • Experience with Unanet and Deltek Costpoint is a plus
