Staff Accountant
Salina, KS
Great Plains Manufacturing is seeking a dynamic Staff Accountant to join our team. This is an on-site role based in our Corporate office in Salina, KS.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Compile and analyze financial information for preparing and booking journal entries.
- Complete a variety of month-end closing tasks independently.
- Reconcile various general ledger accounts to ensure accurate and timely reporting; clear reconciling items within the following accounting period.
- Maintain and update standard monthly reports used by management.
- Provide support for requests from Kubota headquarters, and internal or external tax groups and audit teams.
- Research and apply the appropriate accounting treatment for new transactions.
- Support the CFO and Corporate Controller in providing information and analyses for various ad hoc requests.
- Collaborate with others in the department to support the accounting for international subsidiaries.
- Comply with data requests from government census and industry groups.
- Prepare sales and use tax reports and submit payments.
- Maintain compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company policies and procedures.
- Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.
- Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field; plus 1-3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role helpful, but not required
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Focus on detail and accuracy
- Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to stay on task with varying priorities

Skills Required
