About the Role

As a Staff Accountant on the Finance team you will support the accounting function, including executing the month-end close cycle, assisting with monthly reporting, managing inventory, daily posting of receipts and payments, and supporting the accounts payable function. This position will also help with monthly budget to actual variance analysis, annual audits and other ad-hoc projects. You will report to the Senior Manager of Accounting and help improve our internal and external financial reporting and workflow automation. We are looking for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, catch the smallest details from slipping through the cracks, and above all are driven by solving complex problems.

What You’ll Do

  • Financial Close & Compliance: Support the month-end and year-end closing processes to consistently meet reporting deadlines and maintain complete audit readiness, which includes handling major balance sheet reconciliations
  • Process Improvement: Actively understand, improve, and automate accounting transaction flows and existing manual processes
  • Ledger & Vendor Management: Manage Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) ledgers, accurately record payments, and efficiently maintain and onboard both vendors and customers
  • Fixed Asset Management: Maintain the fixed asset ledger, track capital expenditures, and run monthly depreciation and amortization schedules
  • Bank & Cash Management: Perform daily or weekly bank and corporate credit card reconciliations to monitor cash flow
  • Variance Analysis: Conduct monthly budget-versus-actual variance analysis on departmental expenses to provide actionable insights to management
  • Analysis & Special Projects: Assist in development and implementation of new procedures to enhance the workflow of the finance team and leadership with detailed accounting analyses
  • Cross-Functional Support: Communicate with department leads to resolve variances, and assist with the continuous improvement of month end close procedures to shorten the close cycle and maintain accuracy
  • This role requires onsite administrative duties, collecting and reviewing finance mail and rectifying outstanding checks and balances
  • Assist with ad-hoc special projects

  • Hands-on experience executing month-end close and financial reporting procedures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple competing deadlines, especially during peak close periods

Preferred Qualifications
