What you'll do
- You will report to the Accounting Manager
- Perform account reconciliations for various general ledger accounts, including bank prepayments and accruals, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and post journal entries to the General Ledger (GL) in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Execute Fixed Asset Accounting tasks, including recording acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.VAT and other local statutory returns.
- Managing cashflow.
- Loading ad-hoc payments on banking platform.
- Group quarterly/annual reporting schedules.
- Support the monthly close process through timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks and monthly reconciliations.
- Month-end TB and trend reviews including variance analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and other financial reports.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during the External Audit process, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
You should have:
- Completed Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- 3–4 years’ experience in a similar role
- Advanced to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills essential
- Proven experience performing financial reconciliations
- Working knowledge of Oracle ERP systems will be advantageous
- Proficiency in modern accounting and financial software packages
- Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes
- Strong knowledge of Financial Accounting principles and General Ledger (GL) functions
- Experience with Fixed Asset Accounting and asset management processes
- Familiarity with external audit procedures and compliance requirements
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities with excellent problem-solving skills
- Results-driven with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment
