Position Overview:
The Staff Accountant position is an excellent entry-level role for someone with an Accounting or Finance degree and 1-3 years of related accounting experience in a fast-paced environment. We're a fast growing company and this role has a wide range of accounting responsibilities. The position reports to the Finance Director but will work closely with the entire corporate finance team. The company is highly acquisitive and will continue to generate additional opportunities for career growth.
Staff Accountant Job Duties:
• Hands-on accounting role reporting to Finance Director in a dynamic manufacturing environment
• This role provides opportunity to enhance business acumen by participating in various facets of the sales, operations, and accounting functions
• Participate in month-end close process providing journal entries, account reconciliation, and variance analysis
• Preparation of daily reporting package(s) that includes sales, bookings, backlog, and past due tracking
• Support operations in tracking key metrics such as production labor and past due trends
• Develop, prepare, and support work center rate analysis as well as other cost accounting functions such routing & bill of material analysis. Be able to show variance trends and support operations in improvements or key areas for focus
• Analyze and prepare cost savings templates
• Effectively be the Accounts Payable lead and help solve problems as necessary
• Perform other ad-hoc analysis and data compilation as requested
• Candidate must be comfortable being on a manufacturing floor periodically
STAFF ACCOUNTANT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required
• 1-3 years of related experience in general accounting, accounts receivable or accounts payable is required
• Basic knowledge of GAAP is required • Proficiency in Excel and other MS Office applications is required
• Critically thinking • Able to grasp new concepts quickly • Must be detail oriented and organized • Must be a self-starter and be able to prioritize
• Must have good communication skills
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
• Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand; Reach with hands and arms and talk and hear.
• The employee is occasionally required to walk and lift up to 20 lbs.

PPE REQUIREMENTS:
• In compliance with OSHA standards, it has been determined that safety glasses and footwear are required if required to be on the warehouse floor.

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Working environment is in an air-conditioned cubicle.
