Job Summary: 

The Staff Accountant is instrumental in providing a variety of critical accounting and financial reporting functions including all month end close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, audit processes while ensuring efficient and timely operations. Responsible for maintaining financial controls and confirming financial compliance through analysis and preparation of company’s reports and statements.   

Staff Accountants are responsible for ensuring accounting processes and guidelines are appropriately achieved by performing the following duties:   

Essential Job Functions:

  • Prepare month end close journal entries in accordance with US GAAP
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations  
  • Work with operations team to monitor and analyze inventory and prepare monthly journal entries
  • Maintain prepaid and accrued expense schedules, appropriately amortizing and accruing expenses to the P&L
  • Prepare appropriate audit support for transactions
  • Assist with external audit and tax schedule preparation
  • Support corporate Accounting and Finance team with ad-hoc analysis or projects
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers in person, on the phone, or when answering or referring any inquires.   
  • Participates in staff meetings and workgroups by providing constructive input for process improvements and solutions
  • Other duties as assigned

Responsibilities for Maintaining Role: 

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of accounting principles   
  • Identifies self-learning needs related to job description and seeks out appropriate resources to meet learning needs
  • Maintains positive relationships with clinical staff, peers, vendors, and other team members
  • Maintains open communication with supervisor and team.  
  • Receives and applies constructive input for performance improvement and individual growth.
  • Consistently demonstrates Epiphany’s Core Values, contributing to a team-based, collaborative culture  
  • Adheres to Compliance program. Safeguards PHI and financial information, utilizing HIPAA confidentiality, privacy and security standards and policies.
  • Fully complies with OSHA workplace safety regulations.

 

Performance Requirements, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Advanced Excel skills, such as pivots, lookups, and formula driven spreadsheets
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communication skills to enhance team collaboration
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented and proven ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, following through to completion
  • Demonstrates cultural competency, sensitivity and responsiveness to various cultural characteristics and beliefs

 

Qualifications/Experience:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required  
  • At least two (2) years of experience in accounting preferred
  • Sage Intacct experience preferred  
  • Experience with fast-growing multi-site organization, preferably Healthcare related   
  • US GAAP experience, preferred
  • Financial reporting experience preferred
  • CPA eligible highly preferred
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without restriction


Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Administrative office may have minimum visits to medical offices with possible exposure to procedure/exam room and laboratory environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, biohazards or toxic substances. Daily activities may include standing, walking, sitting, bending and lifting items up to 30 lbs.
