The Job/What You'll Do:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Accounts Payable team. This role will focus on managing invoice entries and overseeing Travel & Expense (T&E) management, ensuring the accurate and timely posting of all transactions. Working closely with the Accounts Payable Manager, you will play a key role in supporting day-to-day operations and contributing to the overall efficiency of the finance department. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounts payable, a solid understanding of invoice entry and travel and entertainment (T&E) processes, and will thrive in a fast-paced environment.
This is a full-time position in our Concord, CA office with a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities:
Process and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system with accuracy, proper coding, and compliance with company policies
Review and verify that invoices are appropriately approved and meet documentation standards
Manage employee T&E reports, ensuring accuracy, policy compliance, and timely submission
Resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors and internal teams as needed.
Maintain accurate records of invoices and T&E submissions to ensure compliance with audit and internal control requirements
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Controllership, FP&A) to address inquiries about invoice status, expenses, and discrepancies
Assist in month-end and year-end closing, including AP reconciliations and T&E-related reporting
Ensure timely employee reimbursement and resolve issues related to T&E submissions.
Identify opportunities to streamline AP processes and reduce errors
Provide excellent service to employees and vendors regarding invoices, expenses, and payment statuses
Knowledge, Skills, and Ailities:
Solid understanding of AP processes, including invoice verification and T&E management
Proficiency with AP and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, Ramp)
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accuracy in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Familiarity with expense policies and auditing for compliance is preferred
Ability to handle sensitive financial data with integrity and confidentiality is preferred
Knowledge of compliance standards, such as GAAP, is preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
3-4 years of experience in General Accounting/Accounts Payable or related financial roles, focusing on invoice entry and T&E management
Experience with T&E reporting tools (e.g., Concur, Ramp, Expensify) is preferred
Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $75,000-$88,000.
This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.
