ROLE SUMMARY:
We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. In this role, you’ll be a key player in the month-end close and day-to-day accounting operations, helping ensure accurate financial reporting. You’ll collaborate across departments, contribute to process improvements, and support special projects as we continue to grow. We’re looking for someone who is analytical, organized, and excited to make an impact.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare various general ledger journal entries and underlying support, including but not limited to recording month-end accruals, prepaid amortizations, reclasses, and other adjusting journal entries
- Record weekly cash transactions, biweekly payroll and credit card purchases
- Reconcile data from various sources and systems to the general ledger to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial reporting
- Analyze and reconcile accounts, identify discrepancies, and prepare necessary adjustments
- Support audit and tax work by preparing supporting schedules and reconciliations
- Collaborate with various departments to gather information and support financial reporting
- Identify process improvement opportunities and help streamline financial workflows
- Perform other ad hoc accounting tasks and support special projects as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2+ years of applicable accounting experience
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with NetSuite is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
POSITION TYPE:
This is a full-time exempt position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position is hybrid, primarily working out of our HQ office in Durham, North Carolina.
SALARY:
$65,000-$75,000 + Bonus
