Who are we hiring?
The Staff Accountant supports MSGE Corporate Accounting in day-to-day operations, as well as monthly and quarterly accounting close. The Staff Accountant will provide on-going financial support to various corporate departments. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for completing journal entries, account reconciliations, and support for the Corporate Accounting team.
What will you do?
- Responsible for the timely coordination and preparation of monthly close deliverables including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Issue monthly results report for various Corporate Departments
- Partner with FP&A to understand variances to budget and forecast
- Collaborate with Internal and External Auditors on requests
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly tax deliverables
- Help improve company-wide utilization of financial systems to enhance accuracy and timeliness of reporting.
- Support the Corporate Accounting groups day-to-day activities.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
What do you need to succeed?
- BS or BA required preferred degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2+ years of relevant experience with Corporate Controllership or Accounting functions
- Big 4 public accounting and CPA preferred
- Strong understanding of monthly close process
- Exposure to financial statements, account analyses and reconciliations
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and open to learning new ways of working.
- Ability to embrace change with a flexible mindset, even if the way forward isn’t clear.
- Ability to be a reliable team member, capable of effective collaboration to achieve our shared goals across teams and departments.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
