Staff Accountant

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Senior Accountant and Accounting Manager in overseeing and managing various accounting functions of the Company, including but not limited to Accounts Payable, Property Accounting, and Capital Accounting.
You will assist and support the operations and financial responsibilities of the properties within the portfolio by providing various financial reports, accruals, reconciliations, and assisting with detailed property level analysis of financial data. You will work closely with the Senior Accountant and Accounting Manager and other stakeholders to implement new processes for optimal month end close.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly journal entries to accurately record, accrue, and allocate expenses at a property level.
• Reconcile G/L accounts related to prepaid assets, accruals, and expense accounts at a property level.
• Assist the senior accountant in improving workbooks with an emphasis on automation.
• Assist in the preparation of regular reports on property level analysis and accounts payable activity such as aging reports, and other metrics for senior management.
• Research any property level inquiries related to operational expenses.
• Support the internal and external audit process, providing documentation and information as requested by auditors.
• Assist in ad hoc tasks and projects assigned.

Qualifications:

• Proficient in using complex Excel formulas.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Education / Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
