This is an onsite position.
The Staff Accountant is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information and assist preparation of accurate and timely financial reports and schedules while ensuring that appropriate accounting control procedures are followed.
Primary Responsibilities;
- Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information
- Documents financial transactions by entering account information
- Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options
- Assists Controller in preparing financial statements; balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports
- Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents
- Maintains accounting controls and financial security by ensuring compliance with policies and procedures – Marmon SPI, GAAP, etc.
- Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
- Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements
- Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations
- Complies with federal, state, and local tax requirements
- Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
- Maintains and accomplishes payroll processing for both salary and hourly employees
- Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
- Contributes to team effort by supporting all departments as needed
Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- 0 - 3 years experience
- Beanworks paperless accounts payable system
- ADP Workforce Now payroll
- Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- OneStream or Sage 100 ERP experience a plus
Salary Range: $55,500 - $71,000.
