Purpose
Support our Nordic global organization with general ledger accounting and financial operations. Assist with the general bookkeeping, accounts payable, intercompany accounting, tax and VAT reporting, payroll processing with third-party, and monthly account reconciliations to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the Company’s accounting systems and associated data.
Essential Functions
- Account Reconciliation and Maintenance
- General bookkeeping activities including routine and non-routine journal entries, bank reconciliation, and month-end closing responsibilities.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of all assigned balance sheet accounts.
- Other ad hoc duties and reporting as needed.
- Accounts Payable
- Process accounts payable, including reviewing and coding invoices, verifying purchasing approvals and receipt of goods/services, and processing payments.
- Support vendor setup and maintenance.
- Maintain accounts payable reports and files.
- Intercompany Accounting
- Assist with monthly intercompany invoicing, accounting, settlement, and reconciliation.
- Payroll
- Administering and coordinating the setup of employees with payroll bank account.
- Ensure timesheets of employees are complete, accurate and submitted on time.
- Run, review, and check the time report of the company per payroll cut-off.
- Assist in providing necessary information to the third-party payroll provider for semi monthly payroll calculations.
- Address employee queries related to payroll.
- Audit
- Assist in preparation for annual financial statement audit and periodic bank audits; ensure appropriate support for all financial information reflected in general ledger.
- Tax
- Assist in providing requested information to the third-party tax firm for preparation of periodic tax returns.
- VAT Reporting
- Report and reconcile VAT monthly.
- Assist in completing and filing VAT returns in country.
- Other
- Respond to accounting-related and financial reporting enquiries on an ad hoc basis.
- Support global financial operations, as requested.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from accredited college or university preferred and 1-3 years of accounting work experience. Bachelor’s degree in Finance will be considered with requisite accounting work experience.
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles and finance concepts.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel and Word.
- Strong intuitive and analytic/problem-solving skills
