Staff Accountant

Salary Range - $85,000 to $100,000

Avero is looking for a Staff Accountant who will be responsible for reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining the general ledger and preparing month-end closing procedures. Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts and the ability to collaborate with others and other similar skills are imperative for this role. This position will report to the Controller. The ideal candidate is an accounting professional with proven analytical and strategic experience. We are looking for a leader who can develop and implement creative solutions to solve operational challenges. You must have strong quantitative skills, be well organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. You should thrive, not stress, in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

• Take ownership of invoicing, receivable, and collection process
• Manage vendor and payment process.
• Assist with day-to-day accounting and balance sheet reconciliation.
• Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
• Perform daily and monthly treasury tasks (i.e., weekly payment runs, manual wire payments, posting of manual payments to the general ledger, daily cash reconciliation, and other treasury tasks as needed)
• Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.
• Participate in financial standards setting.
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.

What You'll Need

• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, finance operations, and financial reporting.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or relevant; MBA or CPA is a plus.
• Experience with software and technology companies necessary, including SaaS and/or recurring revenue financials and common SaaS metrics.
• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures, understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and familiarity with financial accounting statements
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Knowledge of financial modeling (i.e., Excel) and experience with NetSuite or other financial or budgeting systems.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently towards goals.
• Excellent communication, accuracy, attention to detail, and the aptitude for numbers of quantitative skills

For Colorado* based candidates - The range of our base salary cash compensation for this role for candidates living in Colorado is between $80,000 and $90,000. Final offers are determined using multiple factors including experience and level of expertise. We also offer a full robust benefits package. Because Avero's base compensation is driven by location, we will be happy to discuss a salary range for other locations during the interview process.
