Dynata is seeking a bright and analytical Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. Our ideal candidate will be an organized self-starter whose responsibilities include the timely and accurate preparation of financial accounting data in a variety of areas. This position will be responsible for supporting the general accounting, corporate accounting and financial reporting functions of the organizations. As an individual contributor, ad hoc projects and analysis will be expected in this role, in addition to other duties assigned from time to time.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the month-end closing procedures

  • Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies

  • Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring proper classification and accuracy

  • Partner with manager monthly to examine financial statements to ensure accurate reporting and determine ways to reduce costs and increase profitability

  • Conduct variance analysis and provide financial insights to management for decision-making purposes

  • Maintain adequate internal control to safeguard the assets of the Company

  • Able to use rigorous logic and methods to solve problems with effective solutions

  • Provide support for interim and year-end audits, including financial statement preparation

  • Assist with ad hoc projects as they arise such as automation or system implementation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required

  • 1 to 2 years of relevant accounting experience preferred

  • Pursuing CPA or other relevant certification a plus

  • Analytical ability to mine and collect data, as well as problem solving skills to gather and analyze information skillfully

  • Responds to inquiries quickly with professionalism and tact

  • Ability to organize, manage, prioritize, and handle numerous projects/tasks

  • Works well as an individual and as part of a team, willing and eager to help others and share knowledge and skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient in all Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

The salary range for this position in is $50K-$65K/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A discretionary incentive program may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and other benefits, dependent on full-time employment status.
