Job Summary:
Cunningham Restaurant Group is currently searching for a Staff Accountant. The ideal candidate for this position would possess a working knowledge and understanding of finance operations and how they support the restaurant functions.
This role maintains and controls the General Ledger accounts and business transactions for selected locations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Daily Sales Report – Balance, audit, post to COMPEAT
- Accounts Payable – Audit cut-off and account number assignment and post to Compeat
- Bi-monthly vendor statement reconciliation of outstanding restaurant AP invoices
- Assist AP Manager with weekly check run processing.
- Cash / Bank Reconciliation
- Monthly petty cash recon
- Corporate bank deposits
- Rebates – tracking for food, liquor, beer, wine
- Journal entry preparation for various activities
- Restaurant Private Dining reclassification
- Accounts Receivables
- Inventory corrections
- Prepaids
- Cash reconciliation corrections
- Assist with preparation of monthly P & Ls
- Balance Sheet book analysis
- Assist with year-end G & A Budget analysis
- Accounting responsibilities (Quick-books) for owned apartments.
Qualifications:
- Prefer an accounting degree but also will consider those with previous restaurant accounting experience
- Knowledge of Compeat or similar accounting system
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and good-record-keeping
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Team player and can collaborate with other teams in the organization
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management
Skills Required
- Accounting degree or previous restaurant accounting experience
