Lone Star Bakery, Inc. is looking for a Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day operations of the company, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, bank and account reconciliations, and support the monthly financial closing process.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
· Prepare month-end journal entries, reconcile cash, and general ledger accounts.
· Assist with month-end closing process, including accruals, prepaid amortization, and depreciation schedules..
· Assist inventory control processes by reviewing or posting inventory count adjustments.
· Maintain fixed assets schedules and inventory.
· Review and calculate commission payout based on contract.
· Support sales and use tax, property tax, and other regulatory filings as needed
· Assist with the annual audit and other external reporting requests
· Work solutions from beginning to end.
· Participate in special projects as needed – such as research, decision support, and ad hoc reporting requests.
· Build strong relationships within the company and maintain an open flow of communication.
· Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements, Education, & Certifications
· Relevant bachelor’s degree required (Finance, Accounting or another related field).
· 1+ years of experience in accounting.
· Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts.
· A desire to be a significant contributor to a fast-paced growth strategy.
· ERP and Sharepoint/Teams experience
· Proficient in MS Office Suite, Advanced Excel Skills a plus
· Possess analytical and strategic thinking skills.
· Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
Skills Required
- Relevant bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- At least 1 year of accounting experience
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts
- ERP experience
- SharePoint or Microsoft Teams experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Advanced Excel skills

- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
