Description
Fervo Energy is building the most cost-effective, repeatable geothermal power plants in the world. Achieving this mission requires disciplined financial operations, strong controls, audit-ready documentation, and scalable processes that support Fervo's transition into a public-company operating environment. Joining Fervo means operating at the intersection of energy infrastructure, growth-stage execution, and public-company readiness, where reliability, accountability, and continuous improvement are foundational.
We are seeking a Staff Accountant, General Accounting to support Fervo’s Assistant Controller in executing the monthly close, preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and maintaining audit-ready documentation across multiple entities. This is an excellent early-career role for an accountant who wants to build public-company close and controls experience in a fast-growing energy infrastructure company.
The Staff Accountant, General Accounting will report to the Assistant Controller and support core close and general ledger activities, including cash posting, bank reconciliations, prepaids, accruals, PP&E, intercompany, and G&A allocations. The role requires strong attention to detail, curiosity, accountability, and the ability to learn quickly.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable preparing well-supported entries and reconciliations, responding to reviewer feedback, and following documented procedures that conform to GAAP and SOX requirements. Fervo is scaling rapidly, so this role requires ownership of assigned tasks, crisp communication, a controls mindset, and the ability to work effectively with Accounting, Finance, Operations, Treasury, Tax, and external auditors.
