At Okuma America Corporation, the Staff Accountant manages the Accounts Receivable function, as well as other essential general accounting duties. This role requires actively managing all facets of domestic and international collections for trade A/R and non-trade A/R, while providing active oversight of various accounts, reconciliations, and daily accounting activities.
How You'll Make an Impact
Manage Accounting Operations
- All assigned Monthly close process journal entries (in transit reconciliation, payroll JE, Travel accrual, non- PO expense accrual, other accruals, Wells Fargo Purchase card JE’s and all JE’s needed for reconciliations)
- Responsible for all payroll related reconciliations, payroll cash recon, petty cash recon, employee advance recon, flex spending recon, main cash account reconciliation
- Prepares prepaid reconciliations and monthly amortization journal entries
- Creation of all manual invoices
Support Financial Administration
- Concur administration and training/assisting employees on how to enter expense reports in Concur
- Purchasing Card and travel card administration
- Setting up Optum and Fidelity administration and ACH payments following each payroll
- Prepares responses to Census reports
Assist with Accounting & Reporting Activities
- Assist with accounts payable when needed
- Assist with inventory adjustments, when needed
- Assist with all adhoc reporting to third parties
- Prepares tax reporting as needed
Support Systems, Audits & Continuous Improvement
- Assist with the management and implementation of the Onestream system and the new customer portal
- Prepares audit schedules and information gathering for audits

Qualifications
Experience/Training/Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- Minimum entry-level - 2 years of Accounting experience
- Must demonstrate intermediate skills using Microsoft Exce
- Cost accounting experience is a plus

- Ability to operate a vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license
- Finger dexterity is required frequently for over 3/4 of the normal work shift including operating a phone, computer/ electronic equipment
