Staff Accountant - HVAC Products | Carrier Enterprise |Hybrid -Remote
Introduction:
Carrier Enterprise is a joint venture between Watsco and Carrier. Carrier Enterprise distributes Carrier, Bryant and Payne residential and light commercial HVAC equipment products throughout the U.S. Sunbelt, Latin America and the Caribbean.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Staff Accountant position is responsible for functioning in a professional and knowledgeable manner. This position is an experienced level position that reports directly to the Accounting Supervisor and will perform the following responsibilities:
RESPONSIBLITIES/DUTIES:
- Perform daily reconciliations of cash/check/credit card transactions at all CE locations;
- Post all required adjustments to customer accounts;
- Work with CE store personnel to ensure that all daily activities are appropriately accounted for;
- Work with bank/merchant contacts to research reconciling items, update account information, order supplies;
- Weekly NSF Reporting;
- Weekly $10K Filing;
- Perform monthly account reconciliations;
- Assist with internal and external audit requirements;
- Assist with month end closing process;
- Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley testing and compliance;
- Other responsibilities as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Currently hold a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with 3-5 years of experience
- Extensive hands on experience with the responsibilities/duties listed above;
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, including Excel and Word;
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with a strong work ethic and emphasis on attention to details;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral;
- Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality with regard to the information that is processed;
- Ability to work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other corporate team members and operational team members;
- Ability to work well under pressure and within short deadlines; and
- Ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks.

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 3-5 years of accounting experience
- Experience performing account reconciliations, month-end close, and payment audits
- Experience recording accruals and sales cutoff testing
- Experience supporting internal and external audits
- Extensive hands-on experience with listed responsibilities/duties
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, including Excel and Word
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and coordinate with corporate and operational team members
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet short deadlines
