Role and Responsibilities
Pedcor is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our multifamily real estate team. The Staff Accountant will work collaboratively with our development and accounting teams and be actively involved throughout the development and construction process of our $300+ million annual development pipeline.
Primary responsibilities will include, although not be limited to, the following: review general ledger activity to prepare project cost allocation files, coordinate with Draw Coordinator to manage monthly project draw submissions, work with external lenders (mainly HUD) to source monthly debt funding, oversee cost coding and guide accounting in proper book entries, manage draw related due diligence and provide administrative support, review and analyze income statements to prepare debt service coverage calculation, and assist with Section 42 tax credit allocation submissions.
The Staff Accountant will work closely with current finance team members to learn Pedcor’s development and construction platforms with the goal of quickly growing to facilitate such functions independently. This position will work closely with and report to the Vice President of Development and Finance. The ideal candidate will thrive in an entrepreneurial, social, fast-moving environment with the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. While this position will work closely with the accounting department, it will not be responsible for preparing financial statements or posting general journal entries.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
The ideal candidate should have a BS or BA in Accounting or Finance with 1-3 years of related experience. Prior professional experience in a real estate related field is a plus. Prior cost certification experience is a plus. A strong accounting foundation and exception organization skills will be necessary.
