In this role, you’ll own the accuracy and integrity of key financial records, drive timely month-end close outcomes, and influence process improvements that strengthen reporting and decision-making. Your work will create confidence in our financial results, enable business performance, and help shape the future of commerce through trusted financial stewardship. 

What you’ll own 

• Drive accurate and timely financial reporting by ensuring accounting records align with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), regulatory requirements and Global Payments policies. 

• Own the preparation and review of journal entries that support reliable financial results and strengthen reporting integrity. 

• Deliver accurate general ledger reconciliations, identify discrepancies and resolve issues through detailed analysis that protects financial accuracy. 

• Influence month-end close success by driving completion of key accounting activities while maintaining quality, accuracy and deadlines. 

• Build strong partnerships across departments to improve financial transparency, strengthen processes, and enable better business decisions. 

• Develop a deep understanding of operational processes behind assigned accounts and use that insight to improve financial outcomes. 

• Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes, recommend improvements, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. 

• Contribute to audit readiness and special projects that strengthen controls, support business objectives and create long-term value for Global Payments. 

What you bring 

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and 3 to 4 years of accounting experience

• Knowledge of public accounting principles and practices, with a strong understanding of financial reporting fundamentals. 

• Experience analyzing financial data, identifying issues and applying critical thinking to develop effective solutions. 

• Strong organizational, communication, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. 

• A proactive, detail-oriented, and results-focused approach, with the ability to work independently while contributing to team success. 

• A positive, adaptable mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement, collaboration, and delivering excellent internal client experiences. 

Preferred qualifications: 

• Experience with Oracle Financial software. 

• Experience in the credit card processing or bankcard industry. 

• 5 years of general ledger accounting experience.
