The Staff Accountant will play a key role in our operations, handling core financial tasks that ensure smooth business processes and accurate financial reporting. This position supports the finance and operations teams by managing transactions, reconciliations, and financial data, with an emphasis on detail and efficiency. For this role, we will only be able to hire candidates who are authorized to work in Poland, Romania, or Ukraine.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Accounting:
- Manage the billing cycle for our two revenue streams, working closely with sales and data to ensure customers are onboarded and billings are accurate and timely.
- Manage accounts receivable (AR), ensuring timely collections of customer invoices.
- Manage accounts payable (AP), ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices.
- Reconcile merchant payments and track payment cycles for issuers
- General Ledger Support:
- Prepare and post journal entries related to operating activities.
- Reconcile key accounts, including cash, receivables, and prepaid accounts.
- Maintain accruals and other month-end close processes.
- Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Collaborate with external auditors to provide documentation and support for audits.
- Operational Efficiency:
- Work with cross-functional teams to streamline financial workflows and improve data flow between systems.
- Help implement processes that improve collections and manage merchant-related costs.
- Assist in ensuring accurate revenue recognition and financial communication between departments.
Qualifications
- Experience & Education:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
- 2+ years of accounting experience (experience in fintech or startups is a plus).
- Understanding of operational finance processes, such as AP, AR, and collections.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of GAAP principles and familiarity with revenue recognition.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally in a remote environment.
- Adaptability and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced fintech setting.
COMPENSATION: $2,000 - $3,000 USD per month
This role is completely remote and for this role we are ONLY able to hire candidates who are authorized to work in Poland, Romania, or Ukraine.
