We are seeking a detail‑oriented Staff Accountant (Joint Venture) who will be responsible for the preparation, review, and analysis of financial reports and statements for multiple real estate investment funds, joint ventures, and partnerships.


The successful candidate will demonstrate accountability, accuracy, and attention to detail while effectively managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines. This individual will build strong relationships with stakeholders, exercise sound judgment and analytical thinking, and work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.


Responsibilities:


  • Prepare and review financial statements and investment reports for real estate investment funds, joint ventures, and partnerships
  • Read, interpret, and summarize partnership, fund, and joint venture investment agreements
  • Assist with preparation of annual audits in accordance with GAAP
  • Monitor and manage portfolio accounts and related financial activity
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly close entries, including general ledger account reconciliations, consolidations, and financial analysis
  • Calculate joint venture fees and perform actual-to-actual and actual-to-budget variance analyses
  • Prepare limited partner (LP) capital calls, distributions, investor financial reports, and capital statements
  • Communicate directly with partners, investors, asset managers, and other stakeholders
  • Prepare ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 2+ years of accounting experience
  • Experience with general ledger accounting and account reconciliations
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Public accounting experience and/or recent commercial real estate accounting experience preferred
  • Familiarity with MRI accounting software preferred
  • Ability to multi‑task and prioritize workload in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy

The expected salary range for this position is between $65,000 and $75,000.  The actual compensation will be based on factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, market and business considerations and other factors permitted by law.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
