The GNFS Staff Accountant is responsible for all aspects of financial accounting (i.e. accurate and timely journalization and analysis of financial information, reporting, etc.)


What You’ll Do:

This is a Full-Time Salary Position


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the timely and accurate journalization of all assigned accounts and transactions to the general ledger.
  • Reconcile designated general ledger accounts to the summary trial balance monthly.
  • Provide reporting of accounts as needed.
  • Calculate, analyze, verify and report financial data and financial statements to the franchisee on a regular basis.
  • Thoroughly analyze / trends and proactively provide guidance to franchisees in the understanding of all financial information.
  • Ensure all physical inventories are scheduled with Loss Prevention Department.
  • Maintain and assist with enhancements to the GNFS program.
  • Participate in the training of interns and new hires.
  • Assist in preparation of financials for opening and closing of new stores.
  • Perform process related tasks for the entire group.
  • Work on special projects as needed.
  • Effectively communicate and work with other departments within GNC.
  • Promote and sell the GNFS service to new franchise store owners.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

PHYSICAL ASPECTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Hybrid work environment, 3 days in-person attendance (Pittsburgh, PA) in addition to ability to work remotely.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear
  • Regularly/Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low/moderate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required
  • 2-3 years of general accounting experience preferred
  • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external clients
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • 2-3 years of general accounting experience preferred
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and in teams
