The GNFS Staff Accountant is responsible for all aspects of financial accounting (i.e. accurate and timely journalization and analysis of financial information, reporting, etc.)
What You’ll Do:
This is a Full-Time Salary Position
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the timely and accurate journalization of all assigned accounts and transactions to the general ledger.
- Reconcile designated general ledger accounts to the summary trial balance monthly.
- Provide reporting of accounts as needed.
- Calculate, analyze, verify and report financial data and financial statements to the franchisee on a regular basis.
- Thoroughly analyze / trends and proactively provide guidance to franchisees in the understanding of all financial information.
- Ensure all physical inventories are scheduled with Loss Prevention Department.
- Maintain and assist with enhancements to the GNFS program.
- Participate in the training of interns and new hires.
- Assist in preparation of financials for opening and closing of new stores.
- Perform process related tasks for the entire group.
- Work on special projects as needed.
- Effectively communicate and work with other departments within GNC.
- Promote and sell the GNFS service to new franchise store owners.
- Additional duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
PHYSICAL ASPECTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Hybrid work environment, 3 days in-person attendance (Pittsburgh, PA) in addition to ability to work remotely.
- Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear
- Regularly/Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually low/moderate.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required
- 2-3 years of general accounting experience preferred
- High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
- Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
- Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external clients
- Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
