The Staff Accountant is responsible for creating timely and accurate entries for non-operated revenue checks, financial statements, billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, responding to owner inquiries and accurately performing special departmental projects as assigned.

This position is based in Fayetteville, AR.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reports directly to Department manager
  • Interacts as required with other division office personnel and staff
  • Prepare journal entries on a monthly basis
  • Code and process invoices as needed in A/P software
  • Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
  • Process non-operated cash receipts in Quorum/ODA’s Revenue module
  • Record and provide support to the Owner Relations portal (answer a wide variety of customer service questions)
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions
  • Conform with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments
  • Ability to use a computer and possess an understanding of computer software including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work on many different projects at one time
  • Ability to work independently and without direct supervision
  • Understand the importance of following standardized procedures
  • Maintain professional appearance
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Possess an organized and disciplined personality
  • A positive attitude and take directions constructively
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Willingness to "go the extra mile" to achieve division sales goals and objectives

Physical Demands

  • Lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently and frequently moving small objects.
  • Frequently sitting for long periods of time
  • Walking or standing occasionally
  • This position works mostly indoors; going outdoors may be frequently required
  • Must have manual use of hands and vision to use computer constantly

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Experience preparing monthly journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts
  • Ability to code and process invoices in accounts payable software
  • Experience processing non-operated cash receipts in Quorum/ODA Revenue module
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision and meet tight deadlines
  • Customer service skills to support Owner Relations portal and respond to owner inquiries
  • Professional appearance and constructive, positive attitude
