Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc, a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional and talented Staff Accountant I based at our Billerica, MA location.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Maintain accurate accounting records to support timely month-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure financial information is processed accurately and consistently in conformity with company policy and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Provide general accounting support to department managers and supervisors.
- Administer the fixed asset database, including recording additions, disposals, and depreciation entries.
- Assist with cost accounting functions, including inventory reconciliation, variance analysis, standard costing, and reporting.
- Perform monthly customer invoicing and support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis to support timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Interact with internal and external auditors.
- Maintain Project Cost and ReQlogic users, permissions, projects, routings, and employee status updates.
- Prepare periodic management reports and provide accounting analysis and special project support as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED / EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree (Bachelor’s of Science or Bachelor’s of Arts) in Accounting or Finance.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES:
- Two or more years of accounting experience.
- Knowledge of core accounting principles and GAAP.
- Experience supporting month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to prepare financial reports and analysis for management.
- Experience working with auditors and supporting audit requests.
- High sense of urgency with strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Compensation
The anticipated annual base starting salary range for this full-time position is $63,100 - $78,900 (USD). Individual compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
