Staff Accountant – Hospitality

Employment Type: Full-time


Role Summary

Howard is looking for an Accountant with hospitality experience to support daily and monthly accounting tasks for a

portfolio of restaurant and hotel clients. This role requires strong accounting fundamentals, accuracy, and the ability to

meet recurring deadlines in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

● Process daily accounting activity: journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reviews

● Reconcile bank accounts, POS sales, cash deposits, credit cards, and delivery platforms

● Support AP/AR functions, vendor reconciliations, and invoice reviews

● Assist with inventory, COGS, labor analysis, and monthly accounting close periods

● Prepare sales tax filings and other hospitality-related reporting

● Maintain accurate financial records and support audits as needed

● Support other assigned accounting projects as needed


Qualifications

● 2+ years of accounting experience; hospitality accounting required

● Knowledge of hospitality workflows (POS reconciliation, inventory, labor cost)

● Experience with accounting systems (QuickBooks, R365, Sage Intacct) and POS platforms (Toast, Micros, Aloha)

● Strong Excel and organizational skills

● English Proficiency

● Ability to manage deadlines and communicate effectively with clients


Preferred

● Multi-unit hospitality experience

● Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and/or equivalent work experience
