Under the general direction of the department team leader, performs a multi functional role that includes responsibility for monitoring, reconciling and maintaining account balance integrity for department related general ledger accounts (lottery; promotional; beer/wine/liquor purchases; clearing accounts; bank accounts; etc.). Participates in corporate cross-functional meetings that pertain to such accounts. Also plays a diversified part in providing support and back up for all departmental management responsibilities including departmental innovations, corporate projects and financial reporting.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Responsible for all Lottery and Marketing Promotional Ticket processing functions: Account set-up review, general ledger posting, reporting of related entries (invoices, income, corrections, etc.) and reconciliation. Includes developing efficiencies and enhancements to the lottery process.
- Responsible for period end reconciliations, including Beer/Wine/Liquor clearing and bank accounts. Performs the necessary research to determine the appropriate corrections and adjustments. Generates related reporting for management review.
- Performs Period end functions including reconciliation and adjustment of departmental accounts (Cashbox, Sales Clearing; Suspense).
- Assists in developing departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintains departmental systems, including Sales Accounting Management and Sales Reconciliation applications.
- Provides reporting of sales related data to various areas of the company as requested and authorized.
- Assists with departmental and department related systems enhancements including development, design, testing and implementation.
- Participates in corporate cross-functional meetings on department related projects. Also conducts projects, tasks and ad hoc functions based on the needs of the department.
- Assists with new team member training and training follow-up.
What You Bring With You (Qualifications):
Bachelor of Accounting degree or related curriculum.
Experience with on-line systems technology, including Microsoft WORD and EXCEL.
1 – 2 year work experience.
Maintains confidentiality.
Extensive analytical abilities.
Effective communication skills; high degree of professionalism.
Well-developed interpersonal skills
