About the Role:  

Recast Software is looking for a Staff Accountant on a 3-6 month contract. This is a remote role working 30-40 hours per week. The start date is May 20th.

This position will be responsible for billing, accounts receivable and payable, expense report processing, assisting with monthly & quarterly reconciliations, journal entries. It may also assist with budgeting, financial analysis, approvals, and invoicing. This position will report to the Controller and interact across the organization with Sales, Customer Success, Peoples Operations, IT, and Accounting teams at Recast. 

Key Role Responsibilities:

• Execute general accounting functions including, but not limited to: billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger. 
• Perform weekly review of outstanding accounts receivable and follow up with customers as needed.
• Help with financial audit activities.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting processes to ensure expenses are aligned with projected revenue. 
• Generate invoices, maintain accurate account information, and ensure accurate and timely order processing. 
• Work with Sales to complete vendor forms required by customers and prospective customers to generate revenue. 
• Enforce sales order and purchase order acceptance standards, recording important information in our sales and accounting systems. 
• Maintain Accounting's emails for AP bills and customer inquires/requests. 
• Make monthly Journal Entries for depreciation, amortization, deferred commissions, commissions payables, Leasecrunch (ASC 842) Entries, GST/HST, AR/AP revaluations, and other entries as necessary. 
• Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested. 

Minimum Requirements:

• 3+ years’ experience (academic and professional) as a staff accountant.
• 3+ years experience owning AP and AR.
• Proficiency with MS Excel.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Experience with back-office software, including Team Pay, Sage Intact, and Salesforce.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
• Organizational and time-management skills.
• Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
