Staff Accountant (4400)

Job Summary: The Staff Accountant will provide support to the Controller in the monthly processing and preparation of financial transactions for the purpose of issuing accurate financial statements and to provide support to the accounting department.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries
• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations
• Monthly close of financial records
• Assist in tracking fixed assets - including performing and coordinating physical asset verification
• Prepare financial reports for management
• Ensure that company financial records, under responsibility, are maintained in compliance with company policies and GAAP
• Prepare and file sales use tax returns
• Monitoring inventory controls, including routine inventory counts at Dalton Distribution Center.

Responsible for additional duties and accountabilities that will be assigned as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Organizational skills and attention to detail
• Time management with a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Experience with Quickbooks
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, preferred
• Minimum of 1 year experience with Microsoft Office Suite

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 1-2 years general accounting experience

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Ability to lift 15 pounds

Work Environment: 

• This role is in-office full-time during the training period. After training, employees are expected to work from the office a minimum of two days per week, with the remaining days eligible for remote work.
