We are seeking a staff accountant for our finance department to assist with:
- Billing/Vouchering for various contracts including Suffolk County Deficit Funding, OPWDD, ACCES-VR.
- Journal Entries are made monthly to record the accounts receivable on the contracts.
- Review of health insurance bills is done monthly to insure that the bills correspond with the payroll. Monthly Journal Entry is prepared to allocate as such.
- Preparation of NYS Gas Tax refund forms on a quarterly basis. Refund is calculated based on gallons and cost of fuel purchased during the quarter.
- Capture of Food Stamp revenue for the IRA participants and preparation of the corresponding Journal Entry.
- Review of ISS Grant recipients’ documentation and check requests. Preparation of corresponding backup spreadsheet.
- Maintain the Fixed Asset spreadsheets and reconcile the information to the General Ledger on a quarterly basis
- Assists with annual budgets and audit and CFR preparation
- Prepare fringe reporting for the W-2’s and 1099
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field, required.
- Minimum of four (4) years related accounting experience, required.
- Experience in Not- For- Profit industry.
