Role Summary
The ST/Generator Upgrades Value Stream Operations Leader is central to enabling predictable, scalable, and high-quality execution across the Steam & Generator Upgrades Value Stream for Steam Power Services by integrating commercial, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, segment PMO and site execution into a unified value stream operating model. By integrating functions into a cohesive value stream and enforcing disciplined operating systems, the role directly impacts customer outcomes, Segment financial performance, and long-term competitiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Leads a team to deliver the following
1.End-to-End Value Stream Flow for Steam & Generator Upgrades
- Own enterprise flow performance across the full service value stream for Steam and Generator Upgrades Value Streams for Steam Power Services
- Define, maintain, and evolve the enterprise service value stream map
- Drive reduction in end-to-end lead time and variability
- Implement and scale target conditions
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to resolve systemic bottlenecks
- Acts as the final integrator across functions to ensure alignment to value stream performance
- Focus the teams on Value Stream performance& transformation for both Steam and Generator upgrades to create understanding and guide improvement efforts incl complex transformation strategy and activities into tangible aligned Kaizen based action plans as part of a multi-year roadmap & lead its implementation
- Lead building out of capacity and capabilities incl investments and skills to enable changing mix of products and services supporting upgrades revenue stream
2. Upgrades Projects Execution Operating System Leadership
- Govern the end-to-end execution operating system across the project lifecycle
- Define and deploy standardized tollgates, readiness criteria, and execution standards
- Establish and enforce enterprise-wide tools, systems, and digital execution backbone
- Lead operating rhythms that drive decisions and performance management
3. Enterprise Priority & Scheduling Governance
- Establish and lead enterprise-wide prioritization and scheduling governance model with prioritization rules aligned with customer, financial, and strategic objectives, well defined Planning/Scheduling horizons and freeze windows, shared resource sequencing logic across projects, Escalation thresholds and decision rights
- Lead cross-functional scheduling alignment across Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Site Execution
- Operate the enterprise Master Scheduling / S&OE cadence
- Enable key decision making inputs to feed process across SPS/GPS/HDNU for the best use of shared critical resources especially in Engineering & GSC. This enables the right prioritsation & experience for key customer accounts at Power segment level
4. Capability & Talent Development
- Define competency frameworks for PM, PD, PQM, CM, and related roles aligned with leadership maturity models
- Establish certification, development, and progression pathways
- Embed a culture of continuous capability development across the project organization working closely with the Segment PMO leadership
5. Central Project Quality & Contract Management Governance
- Provide enterprise oversight of project quality and contract management
- Lead centralized pools of Project Quality Managers (PQM) and Contract Managers (CM)
- Define and enforce project quality standards aligned with customer requirements and Built-In Quality (BIQ) principles
- Ensure integration of quality practices across the full value stream working closely with Business operations team
- Identify and eliminate recurring quality failure modes; embed lessons learned into execution standards
- Support complex negotiations and dispute resolution
6. Enterprise Risk Management & Foresight
- Own enterprise-wide visibility and governance of delivery and commercial risk
- Define and implement a standardized risk taxonomy & govern the enterprise SQD risk register
- Enable process for adequate risk reviews during bid and contract phases
- Monitor and manage aggregate exposure across: Liquidated damages (LD), Warranty risk, Execution-related commercial risk
- Define escalation triggers and intervention thresholds
- Provide forward-looking risk insights to ELT
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in a relevant discipline, or equivalent knowledge/experience.
- Strong Business acumen with operational experience in a Services business especially Complex projects/PMO/Capital equipment supply chains/Value Stream Organization
- P&L understanding with experience in Strategy/Markets, Pricing, Commercial processes, Product, Field Services, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Planning, Quality, Risk management and running financial budgets.
- Lean expertise with real world experience of implementation of the lean toolbox
- Ability to lead complex problem solving with both caused and created problems for the business - Ability to Create Standard Work to drive consistency and implement Daily Management to promote point of work problem solving. Coach organization on improving overall Problem solving capabilities
- Experience operating in global, matrixed organizations with multiple P&Ls
- Deep expertise in: Value stream management and flow optimization, Project execution and lifecycle governance, Commercial and delivery risk management

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $204,000 and $306,000 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
