About the Opportunity
We are looking for a qualified SSI Platform Administrator who will provide technical administration, support, configuration, and maintenance of customer environments for SSI’s shipbuilding platforms, primarily the ShipConstructor, EnterprisePlatform, and ShipbuildingPLM. This position will allow the candidate to work remotely in full-time for SSI America's, with the occasional need for on-site support or training if required. This position is a fantastic opportunity for someone wanting to work with a high-performing technical support team. Please Note: SSI has clients all across the Americas in different time zones and will require the candidate to be flexible with hours (but only 8hrs a day- 40hours a week) to support our diverse clients.
As the SSI Platform Administrator you will be responsible for the following:
- Install, configure, deploy, and maintain instances of SSI EnterprisePlatform and ShipbuildingPLM in customer production.
- Manage Microsoft SQL Server databases underpinning ShipConstructor and related platform.
- Monitor system health, logs, and performance metrics.
Support integration and data synchronization between ShipConstructor, EnterprisePlatform, ShipbuildingPLM, and external systems (e.g., MRP, MES, ERP, PLM connectors). - Configure connectors, publishing modes, user directories, and automation workflows within EnterprisePlatform
- Perform low-code/no-code configurations, customizations, and hook-up testing in ShipbuildingPLM (built on Aras Innovator)
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues related to platform functionality.
- Apply patches, updates, security hardening, and version upgrades to platforms.
- Assist customers with user access management, role-based permissions, and security best practices.
- Document configurations, procedures, troubleshooting steps, and environment setups; maintain knowledge base articles for internal and customer use.
- Collaborate remotely with customer IT/engineering teams, shipyard stakeholders, and SSI implementation specialists during deployments, upgrades, and issue resolution.
- Participate in on-call rotation for critical customer support as required.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5+ years of experience in systems administration, preferably supporting enterprise software, databases, or PLM/CAD platforms in manufacturing/industrial environments.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server administration.
- Experience with Windows Server environments, virtualization.
- Familiarity with Autodesk products (especially AutoCAD-based tools) and shipbuilding CAD/engineering workflows is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of PLM systems (Aras Innovator experience a strong plus) and enterprise integration concepts.
- Understanding of shipbuilding or marine industry processes is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical shipyard users and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently in a customer-facing support role, often remotely.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site support or training (if required).
