Job DescriptionThis position will provide you the opportunity to be part of SSD System Test Engineering team for ensuring the testability and manufacturability of integrated circuits from the component feasibility stage through production ramp for our high performance, revolutionary NAND Solid State Disk Drives in our ODM. You will be responsible for production SSD Failure Analysis (FA) and be the focal person to provide engineering support to our ODM. You need to understand the SSD test flow and test content, own the failure analysis, data analysis, troubleshooting, yield monitoring, etc. for our SSD products.
You will work with cross-functional team of Product Development Engineering, Systems Engineering, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Operation and ODM stakeholders, to achieve above goals.
Responsibility
- Investigate, replicate, and root-cause SSD failures occurring during New Product Introduction (NPI) and High-Volume Manufacturing (HVM).
- Perform electrical failure analysis using diagnostic software and hardware tools (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
- Collaborate with Test Engineering, Firmware Engineering, Design Engineering, and factory counterpart to resolve SSD defects and drive design/process improvements.
- Develop and maintain the detailed documentations of failure analysis for factory FA teams, including hardware setup, debug procedure, result judgement, etc.
- Utilize SQL, Python, AI tool, etc. to perform large-scale data mining, accelerate the identification of failure, improve FA throughput, etc.
- Monitor the production yield and identify emerging failure trends to trigger early investigation and prevent the mass failure.
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience in failure analysis, electrical troubleshooting, HW debugging in the semiconductor industry.
- Familiar with PC system, Windows/Linux applications.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work well with Solidigm global teams (mainly in US and Asia) and ODM stakeholders.
- Familiar with ODM Manufacture environment and process.
- Experience in Python or other script languages for data analysis and automation. Familiarity with SQL for data queries is highly valued.
