Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The successful candidate will manage and maintain our organization’s Oracle databases, including for our Application Hosting services. Key to this service will be to ensure the database availability, security, performance, and scalability. The Oracle DBA will work closely with IT, Product Development, Application support, and other stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, optimize database systems, and support database projects.
Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases and Exadata systems.
- Lead performance tuning and optimization efforts for databases.
- Ensure database security and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application development and deployment.
- Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and patch management.
- Document database architectures, processes, and procedures.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior DBAs and other team members.

- Technical expertise in Database 12 - 19C on Linux/Solaris/AIX server.
- Maintain Backup and recovery policies and procedures
- Patch Management and Version Control.
- Perform database tuning and performance monitoring.
- Cloning Oracle Database from Production environment to non-prod environments.
- Experience in code migration, database change management through the various stages
- Plan growth and changes (capacity planning)
- Apply Quarterly CPU & Security Patches.
- Should possess good communication skill
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA, with experience in Oracle 11g, 12c, and/or 19c (SE & EE)
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and database performance tuning.
- Strong understanding of database architecture, high availability, and disaster recovery.
- Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and ASM.
- Knowledge of database security best practices.
- Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Oracle Cloud, Azure).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead projects and mentor team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Oracle Certified Master (OCM) or Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Exadata is a plus.
- Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell, PowerShell scripting).
- Experience with regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Impeccable attention to detail.
- Work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong planning, time management, and excellent organizational skills to meet deadlines.
- Ability to establish good working relationships with clients.
